If It’s Not One Thing, It’s Another

All has been going pretty well with Elizabeth.  They have finally found a drug cocktail that she seems to be able to tolerate.  They have been busy making plans for her to come home.  The problem is now that it turns out that one of the drugs (azactam, or aztreonam) she needs is in a state of nationwide shortage.  The hospital has their supply, but the home infusion company that delivers the drugs to us at home doesn’t have any.  It appears that one company has some of this that they are letting go under “special circumstances”.   They are working hard on resolving this at the hospital, but I don’t know what the outcome will be.  Today is Katy’s birthday.
